The proposal looks to create a central Cancer Care Centre in Sheffield to support those who are affected by cancer, in any shape or form.

The L-shaped building turns its back on the busy surroundings, and opens up on the inside to an internal, tree filled courtyard.

Visitors are invited into a safe haven that aims to feel like a home rather than a hospital, and where they can talk about what they are going through as a person and not just a patient.

The design strives to reflect respect - for the tough battle cancer is, but also express joy - for the beauty still to be appreciated in this world.

The project is dedicated to my dad who passed away from cancer last year.
